All engineering students have access to Carrier and Anderson Halls 24/7 through the two doors that use the card readers

Chemical Engineering

The Chemical Engineering computer lab is in Anderson 226. It is open to ChE majors only and all juniors, seniors, and graduate students in chemical engineering have 24/7 access through use of their ID cards and the card reader to this lab. Students need to contact Ms. Bethany Levalley, ChE Office, 134 Anderson, 915-7023, lavalley@olemiss.edu to sign a computer usage agreement and acquire a username and temporary password.

Civil Engineering

The Civil Engineering computer lab is in Carrier 213. It is open to engineering students upon enrollment in ENGR 207 (Computer Graphics), a required class for CE, ME, and GE. If access is needed prior to this course, a request should be submitted to Mr. Gene Walker, glw1@olemiss.edu, 915-5369 to acquire a username and temporary password. After-hours access to the lab is automatic for all juniors, seniors, and graduate students in civil engineering through use of the ID card reader; others may request access through the CE Office (Carrier 203).

Computer Science

Information about how computer science students can access the Department's computing facilities can be found on the Department Department's website. Questions should be directed to Anthony Nocentino, aen@cs.olemiss.edu or Department Chair, Dr. Conrad Cunningham, hcc@cs.olemiss.edu.

After-hours access to the lab is automatic for all juniors, seniors, and graduate students in mechanical engineering through use of the ID card reader.

Wireless Access in Engineering

To access the university wireless network In Carrier and Anderson Halls, you will need a valid University of Mississippi WebID and password. When you attempt to access the internet, you will be redirected to the University authorization site to verify your WebID and password. Once approved, the system will automatically connect you to the wireless network. Weir Hall (Computer Science) is also equipped with wireless networking capabilities. Students should be able to access the wireless network from anywhere in Weir using a valid WebID. Our Cisco access points support both the 802.11a and 802.11b protocols. Of course, an 802.11g card can access the 802.11b portion of the network.
