Where Are Our Graduates?

Graduates of our M.A., M.F.A., and Ph.D. programs are successfully pursuing academic and teaching careers in a variety of settings. They have been selected for additional educational opportunities and some are pursuing careers outside of the academy.

Ph.D. Grads

One third of a recent graduate doctoral cohort are currently in tenure track teaching positions at universities, colleges and community colleges. Another third are teaching full or part-time in non-tenure track college teaching positions. Of the final third, some are teaching in prep and secondary programs. One has entered the M.F.A. program in poetry at New York University. Others have opted for business opportunities outside of the academy.

M.A. and M.F.A. Grads

Recent grads have been accepted into Ph.D. programs at Purdue University, the University of Georgia, the University of Illinois, the University of Louisville and University of Mississippi. Many are serving on the faculties of secondary and prep schools. Grads are also working outside of academia in marketing, public relations and Internet enterprises.
