Hospitality Management General Information

Our faculty members are dynamic and highly qualified, with expertise in many facets of the hospitality industry. They are responsive and ready to provide our students with a well-rounded education.

The hospitality management program at Ole Miss offers students the chance to study abroad. Led by HM faculty members, students travel to major domestic and international destinations to attend professional exhibitions and seminars and also to learn from those who have firsthand experience in the fast-moving hospitality industry. Some destinations include Chicago, New York City, Las Vegas, London, Australia, Fiji and Italy.

Each year, scholarships are awarded to outstanding hospitality management students. Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit, professional motivation and financial need.

The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences maintains contacts with many former students and other associates in the hospitality industry. Students in hospitality management may customize their educational experience by choosing from a wide variety of internships.

Students who graduate with a degree in hospitality management can find career opportunities in:

• Resorts, casinos, and entertainment centers
• Convention centers and visitor bureaus
