PROGRAMS
The Department offers two programs: The Bachelor of Science in Nutrition/Dietetics (B.S.D.N.), and the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality
Management (B.S.H.M.). While the Nutrition/Dietetics and Hospitality
Programs structure their curriculum to provide students an academic
experience consistent with national standards, students have additional
opportunities to attend state and national professional conferences
and to participate in domestic and international study tours led
by members of the Department’s faculty. This provides students
with an exciting blend of academic, social and cultural experiences.
Extracurricular activities provide students in each emphasis area the opportunity to participate in student organizations associated with their professional fields, develop leadership skills and network with other professionals working in their future field of employment. The Department encourages scholastic excellence and sponsors a chapter of Kappa Omicron Nu, the national honor society for students in emphasis areas within Family and Consumer Sciences including dietetics and hospitality management.
