CURRENT STUDENTS

This provides students with an exciting blend of academic, social and cultural experiences. In recent years, students have attended the American Dietetic Association’s Food and Nutrition Conference and Exhibition, National Restaurant Association Conference and Exhibition in Chicago, as well as participating in study tours to New York City, Las Vegas, Australia and Fiji, and several in Europe. Extracurricular activities provide students in each degree program the opportunity to participate in student organizations associated with their professional fields, and develop leadership skills and network with other professionals working in their future field of employment.

The Department sponsors a chapter of Kappa Omicron Nu, the national honor society for students in each degree program within Family and Consumer Sciences including dietetics and hospitality management. For more information on the UM chapter of Kappa Omicron Nu, click here.
