Transfer Students

----

If you are transferring to The University of Mississippi:

  • Financial aid does not "transfer" from one institution to another. Each institution must evaluate students’ eligibility independently of other institutions.

  • Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the recommended date of February 15th.

  • Send the data to us by using our school code (002440) on the FAFSA.

  • Submit your MTAG/MESG application to the state office by the deadline.  If you are transferring mid-year, be sure to contact the State Office of Financial Aid.

  • Complete your admission file.

  • Transfer Student Scholarship Opportunities

  • Check with your current Financial Aid Office to make sure  you have completed all requirements for a departing student.

  • Attend Transfer Student Orientation.

  • Read carefully any correspondence you receive from the Office of Financial Aid, the Office of Admissions, or other departments on campus.

  • Feel free to contact a financial aid advisor with any questions you have about financial aid at Ole Miss.

If you are transferring from The University of Mississippi to attend another school:

  • Financial aid does not "transfer" from one institution to another. Each institution must evaluate students' eligibility independently of other institutions.

  • Be sure to complete all exit procedures such as contacting your lender and the Office of Financial Aid to cancel any remaining disbursements at Ole Miss and completing Loan Exit Counseling. Exit Counseling is available on our web site at www.olemiss.edu/depts/financial_aid/online/ all day, every day. If you do not complete Exit Counseling, the University of Mississippi cannot release your transcript to your new school.

  • Add your new school to your Free Application for Student Financial Aid (FAFSA). To do this mid-year, call 1-800-433-3243, use your PIN number from your Student Aid Report, and add the new school code.

  • Contact your new school to discuss their financial aid procedures.
