Please read the following information carefully before submitting a request. 

• You may request a voucher or cash advance to cover educational expenses if disbursement of financial aid is pending for the current term. Your pending aid must be in excess of all current or potential university charges.

• Vouchers and cash advances cannot be processed for:

1. Mississippi state grants (such as MTAG, MESG, William Winter, Critical Needs, or HELP) that have not been authorized by the state office in Jackson for awarding purposes. To verify whether your application has been approved, log on to https://www.ms.gov/sfa/login.do

    

2. Outside scholarships. These awards will process when the funds are received by the school.

    

3. Institutional loan funds (such as Perkins, McKinstry, and Health Professions Loans).  Once all requirements are complete for these loans, standard disbursement should occur the next business day.

• In addition, cash advances cannot be processed for students who have not completed all requirements for financial aid in a timely manner.  In general, most students must wait for their aid to process normally and will not qualify for an advance.  If you believe that you have extenuating circumstances (such as processing delays that appear to be due to institutional error), note this information in the “Reason for Request” section.  Otherwise, please apply for book/meal vouchers only.

The Office of Financial Aid will review all requests to ensure that students are eligible for their aid.

Please note that submitted requests will not be reviewed until the next business day.  If approved, cash advance funds will be available after 4:00 PM and book vouchers after 6:00 PM on the day of the approval.
