Objective: to understand article citations, to locate articles from citations, to describe the differences between scientific articles and news articles (primary sources versus secondary).

Part 1. Label the following parts on each of the two article citations listed below:

Part 2. Using the Library web page, find and print copies of both articles.

 

Part 3. Answer the following questions about each article.

Was the research that is reported in the article done by the author or by someone else?

Who is the intended audience for the article?

What is the structure of the article?

What was the author’s purpose in writing this article?
