MLA International Bibliography
From the Modern Language Association.  Does not include classical literature. Indexes critical materials on literature, languages, linguistics, and folklore. Provides access to citations from worldwide publications, including periodicals, books, essay collections, working papers, proceedings, dissertations, and bibliographies 1963 to present; some full-text. 
 
EBSCOHOST Academic Search Premier
A collection of general reference and subject-specific research databases offering indexing and abstracting for periodical and newspaper articles; some full-text. 
 
JSTOR
Contains full-text journal articles from the 19th century up to about 2000. This is an excellent resource for older articles; sometimes, a journal may be in JSTOR but not owned by UM, so check the library catalog or "Journal Finder" before requesting an article from Interlibrary Loan.

Multidisciplinary journal coverage with table of contents alerting service.

Literature Online (LION)
A literary encyclopedia with references to more than 350,000 works of English and American poetry, drama and prose, 147 full-text literature journals, and other key criticism and reference resources Also contains references to many major foreign authors.


Dissertation Abstracts
Dissertations on all academic topics accepted at accredited institutions since 1861.  In dissertations microfilmed since 1995, a free 24-page .pdf preview is available.
