Wireless Printing

Wireless Printing in the Library

The library is currently testing a wireless printing system for laptop users. This system allows users to submit print jobs through a web form, and no software is installed on the user’s computer.

Where do I go to submit a print job? Go to http://dionysus.lib.olemiss.edu/cps/Login.jsp and follow the on-screen prompts. (This system has been tested with Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari. Other browsers may work as well.)

What Types of Files Can I Print? The wireless printing system can accept any of these file types:

How do I print using Apple’s iWork on a Mac?
The iWork applications (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote) can all export files in a PDF format. From the file menu, choose Export, and follow the prompts to create a PDF version of your file. You can submit the PDF file through the wireless printing system.

Where do I pick up my print jobs?
There are three release stations in the Williams Library:

  1. On the first floor a black and white print station is located across from Circulation and Reserve.
  2. A second print station is available on the first floor in the Information Commons. You can print either Black and White or Color jobs at this location.
  3. The third print station is located in the Baxter Room on the second floor.
An additional print station is located in the Science Library near the Circulation desk. To print to this printer, you must select Science Black and White as your printer in Step 1 – Choose a Printer.

Printing Walk-Through

Browse to http://dionysus.lib.olemiss.edu/cps/Login.jsp (Bookmark it so you can print again in the future!). On the opening screen, enter the job name.

Select the type of Printer that you want. Black and white print jobs are 10 cents per page. Color jobs are $1.00 per page.

On the next screen, you will be asked to select the document that you want to print. (Alternatively, you can put in the address of a web page to print. However, this will not work well with systems that require a login, such as Blackboard or Webmail.) To select a document for printing, click the Browse button. (This button may be labeled Choose File depending upon which web browser you use.)

Browse through your files and find the document you want to print.

After you have selected a file, click the Continue button.

The print system will calculate the total charge for your print job.

Once the print system calculates the total cost of the job, click “Send Job to Print Queue” to send the job. (NOTE: You are not charged until you release the job at one of the print stations.)

Once the print job is complete, you can pick it up at one of the release stations. In the Williams Library, printer stations are available in three locations: first floor across from Circulation and Reserve, first floor in the Information Commons, second floor in the Baxter Room. In the Science Library, the print station is located near the Circulation desk. NOTE: If you submit a job through the wireless system, the job name will be listed in the Owner column instead of the Job Name column.
