The "Find It" Button: Linking to Interlibrary Loan
The find it button is very useful for locating articles and journals that are available from the library. It can also help you request items that the library does not own through our Interlibrary Loan service.
When carrying out a database search, you can see from the Full Text links that some articles are readily available in the database. Other articles have no direct links to full text. Instead, we see the Find It button, click on the button to see if it available form another source.
Citation information about the article is displayed at the top of the page. Below that,you can see that online full text of the article is not available. You can check the library catalog to see if a paper copy is available This option is explained in part 2 of the tutorial. When you've exhausted all of the options for finding the article within the library, use the link to request a copy through Interlibrary Loan.
Login to the Interlibrary Loan service with your webid and password.
The request form has been filled in automatically. Just scroll to the bottom of the page and click submit. When the article is available, an email will be received with information on how to retrieve the article.
