Online Quiz Scoring
How much should the tutorial be worth?
This depends on your class and grading structure. To help you decide:
- The video takes approximately 20 minutes to view.
- The quiz has 8 random, multiple-choice questions.
- Students may repeat the quiz as many times they would like to improve their score. Each score is kept in a central database.
How can the quiz be assigned?
The type of assignment depends on the other assignments in your class. You may wish to consider including the quiz:
- As a necessary step of paper/project if the project will be turned completed in phases (e.g., outline, tutorial complete, draft complete…).
- As a component of a rubric evaluation of a completed project.
- As a quiz or assignment that is a part of the overall grading structure.
- As extra credit or a make-up quiz.
Will differential performance result in differential credit?
Although you could provide full credit for simply completing the quiz, we recommend that you consider one of the following options:
- Full credit available for students answering 6 or more questions correctly.
- Percent of available credit earned could be based on the quiz score.
