Full standing - Applicant is fully admitted to a degree program. For admission in this category, an applicant should have at least a 3.0 grade-point average or its equivalent over all work attempted or over the last 60 hours of course work for the baccalaureate degree and have competitive scores on the appropriate entrance examination for the specific school or department.
Conditional - Applicant is admitted to a degree program with certain requirements that must be satisfied before being moved to full status. An applicant whose overall admission packet does not meet the requirements for full admission, but reflects a reasonable chance for success, may be recommended for admission in this category. Graduate credits earned in this status may be applied toward a degree. Except in unusual circumstances, students may not remain in conditional standing for more than one semester.Note: students in this category may not be eligible for some financial aid.
Qualifying - Applicants admitted in this category are required to complete certain undergraduate courses, as assigned by their adviser, to strengthen qualifications for entering a degree program. Course work completed in this category may not be applied to a graduate degree.
Non-Degree II - Applicants with no intention of pursuing a graduate degree and who have a baccalaureate degree with a grade-point average of at least 2.7 on all work attempted or over the last 60 hours of course work, or possess a master's degree or higher, may be admitted in this category. Non-Degree II students may take courses at the 600-level and below with the permission of the department. Only 9 hours of graduate work taken in Non-Degree II category may apply to a degree, should the student later wish to be considered for admission to degree status. Note: Admission in this category does not guarantee admission to any degree program; students in the Non-Degree II category are not eligible for financial aid.
