Application information is electronically routed to the appropriate academic department, where the applicant's credentials are evaluated on a competitive basis. The fact that an applicant's credentials meet the minimum admission standards does not entitle an applicant to be admitted. Departments consider a variety of factors in making admission decisions, including the availability of resources and faculty.
Deadlines and admission seasons for departmental review vary. Most graduate programs prefer to admit students for the Fall semester and use an April 1 deadline. If admission to a program is available for the Spring semester, departments usually use an October 1 deadline. Several departments/programs has established specific application deadlines, and will only make recommendations for the pool of applicants following this date.
You make track the status of your application by going to the link (track application) and entering your tracking number.
After departmental review, recommendations are routed to the Graduate School for final approval. A notice of admission (or denial) will then be processed for the applicant. For those students accepted into the Graduate School, conditions for admission, if any, will be included in the notice of admission.
