The Department of Health, Exercise Science and Recreation Management is pleased to announce that two of our students received honors in the recent University of Mississippi Graduate School Poster Symposium and Research Day. Kevser Ermin won first place with her project "Differences in bone mineral density between adolescent female tennis players and non-tennis players". This project is based on her master's thesis that she completed with Dr. Scott Owens as the director.
Abby Gamble won 3rd prize for her submission entitled "Ecological predictors of children's in-school physical activity and weight status in the Mississippi Delta." This project is based on her dissertation for which Dr. Jeffrey Hallam served as the director. Both projects were considered in the Behavioral Sciences division. Congratulations to both of these students!
