This research degree provides students an opportunity to investigate three major areas in Exercise Science; Exercise Physiology, Motor Behavior, and Exercise Motivation. Specific research interests are presented within the faculty profiles. The Ph.D. degree in Exercise Science requires 57 hrs (minimum) of approved coursework beyond a Master's Degree. Along with a major area of study in Exercise Science, students select a supporting area of coursework and are required to take 12 hrs in Research Design and Statistics. Finally, students are required to pass a written and oral comprehensive exam, and successfully propose and defend a written dissertation.
*Please note that courses taken during a master's program may not be repeated for credit in the Ph.D. Program.
