Types of Leave

 


Donated Leave

In accordance with State Law and University Policy, employees who are on leave of absence for the following reasons may qualify as a recipient of donated leave.

  • Catastrophic injury or illness” means a life-threatening injury or illness of an employee or a member of an employee’s immediate family, or
  • Chronic illnesses or injuries, such as cancer or major surgery, which results in intermittent absences from work and which are long-term in nature and require long recuperation periods.

Employees requesting donated leave must complete a medical certification form.  The completed form must be forwarded to the Department of Human Resources for review.
