The University of Mississippi is composed of nine colleges and schools :

  8. School of Applied Sciences and Professional Studies
  9. Graduate School


The University of Mississippi Medical Center* is composed of additional schools:

  1. Medicine,
  2. Dentistry, and
  3. Health Related Professions.
    *Preference is given to applicants who are legal residents of Mississippi. In recent years, it has not been possible to admit nonresidents to certain degree programs. Please refer to the relevant school section for more information.

The University Medical Center in Jackson is the health sciences campus of the University of Mississippi. The School of Medicine begain in 1903. Graduate programs are offered in Anatomy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacology and Toxicology, and Physiology and Biophysics. The School of Nursing offers MSN and PhD graduate programs. The School of Helath Related Professions offers MS and PhD graduate programs in Clinical Health Sciences and the MPT in Physical Therapy. *Preference is given to applicants who are legal residents of Mississippi. In recent years, it has not been possible to admit nonresidents to certain degree programs, such as the MD program. The Medical Center has a separate application process and more information can be obtained from the Division of Student Services and Records.
