Application Download
To download an English as a Second Language Program Application,
follow the instructions below:
Note: To be able to view an application, you must have an Acrobat
Reader program installed on your computer. If you don't have
one, please

continuing further.
If you wish to apply only to the English as a Second Language
Program, you should submit the following items:
• Completed application form for the English as a Second Language
Program (Click

• $50: a $25 nonrefundable application
fee and a $25 nonrefundable deposit (The deposit
will be deducted from your tuition at the time of enrollment.
You may send both the application fee and the deposit as one
payment of $50. Both fees are required before application will
be processed)
• Official bank statement showing name of sponsor and amount
of funds available
If you wish to apply for both an academic program and the
English as a Second Language Program, you should submit the
following items:
• Completed International
Application for Admission
• Completed application form for the English
as a Second Language Program
• Official TOEFL results mailed directly from the Educational
Testing Service
• Official, final, and complete transcripts of previous academic
work mailed directly from educational institution
• Affidavit
of Financial Support (separate sheet)
• $50: a $25 nonrefundable application fee and

of funds available
Admission Procedures
Students who wish to enter a UM academic program may apply first
to the ESL and begin admission procedures. However, students
must meet the admissions requirements. Attending the English
as a Second Language Program does not guarantee academic admission
into The University of Mississippi.
Applicants may be admitted to the English as a Second Language
Program in one of the following categories:
1. Admission to an academic program with the provision that
prior to enrolling in academic classes the English as a Second
Language Program be successfully completed and acceptable TOEFL
results be obtained.
2. Admission to the English as a Second Language Program with
the option of applying for admission to the academic program
after successful completion of English courses. Successful completion
of the English as a Second Language Program does not guarantee
admission to The University of Mississippi.
