Class Schedule


• Two 8-week sessions in the Fall Semester (registration in August)
• Two 8-week sessions in the Spring Semester (registration in January)
• Two 4-week summer sessions (registration in late May or late June)
• Special sessions arranged for groups

ESL Classroom

• Maximum of 12 students per class to allow for more individualized attention
• Levels of instruction designed to be completed in 16 weeks: High-beginning, Low-intermediate, High-intermediate, and Advanced Levels
• Varied curriculum: Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening, and Electives
• Certificates awarded upon completion of each level of instruction
• Computer classroom and language laboratories available to improve language skills

The Instructors

• Experienced instructors, trained at the graduate level in Teaching English as Second Language or a related field
• Caring and supportive classroom atmosphere

 

Activities


ESL students can participate in activities sponsored by a wide variety of campus organizations including the Office of International Programs, Ole Miss Outdoors, and the Study Abroad Office, among many others.

Conversation Partner Program


• Meet with students from the U.S. and others living in the Oxford community
• Learn more about the culture of the area and improve language skills in weekly conversations
• Make friendly contacts with local citizens
