Accommodations for Unmarried Students


The University maintains residence halls for undergraduate and graduate students. Intensive study floors are available in some halls for residential students. All residence hall rooms are equipped with furniture and utilities essential to comfortable living. Internet access is provided in each room for students who own their own computers. Students must provide their own linens, pillows, and personal items such as telephones, radios, and lamps. Housing assignments will not be made until all admission requirements have been met. Students who wish to be roommates are encouraged to submit their housing applications and deposits in the same envelope. Assigned housing may be occupied only after the applicant has been fully admitted to the University and has signed a housing contract.

Family Housing


The University has numerous furnished and unfurnished apartments that maybe assigned to married students or single parents attending the University. An apartment may be retained by a student provided that student is enrolled on a full-time basis at The University of Mississippi. Three sizes of apartments are available to University students: efficiency, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom. Occupants may install air conditioning. Laundry facilities are available in the family housing village. Pets are not allowed in the apartments or in the village area.

Freshman Residence Requirements


Full-time single students who have completed less than 28 semester hours are required to live on campus in the residence halls for one academic year (two semesters) or for one semester and two summer terms. Exceptions are made for married students and for students who live with parents or legal guardians and commute.

Applicants who are granted admission will receive a housing application along with their I-20 or IAP-66. A $100 prepayment payable by check or money order (in U.S. dollars) is required upon submission of a housing application. You may request an application for housing by contacting:
