Getting weary of synchronized line dancing? Is your favorite ballroom getting a little cramped? Why not try a brand new thing: It's called swing!OK, so it's not really new, but this free-wheeling style of dance certainly is being revitalized.
Swing is sweeping the country, infecting even the youngsters. Until recently area residents wanting to "swing" to the tunes of jazz or big bands had to travel to Memphis to tap their toes.
Starting Tuesday those toes will be tapping right here in Oxford at the debut of a community dance beginning at 7:30p.m. at Stone Center on Washington Avenue. The Joy Spring Jazz Trio will perform. The event is open to the public and is free of cost.
