The International Community has been invited to
the home of Chancellor Robert Khayat on Tuesday April 13, 1999 from 3:30
until 5:00. This is an annual event the Chancellor looks forward
to every year, and so do we. This week you will receive an invitation
from theChancellor's office, but mark your calendars now for next Tuesday
April 13. This will be a cookout to be held outside so please wear
something that is dressy yet comfortable. If you have questions or

A reception honoring your accomplishment will be held on Tuesday April
27, 1999 at 5:00 in the Yerby Center. You will soon be receiving

because we're going to visit the King! That's right the long anticipated trip to Memphis to visit Graceland is happening on Saturday April 17, 1999. Take a small break from the studies to visit the home of one of the largest cultural icons of the 20th century.
As part of the Africa Peace Tour 1999, Muglewa Zihinbula from the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Ezckila Pajibo, fromer President of the Liberian National Students' Union will speak at the Turner Center Auditorium, Room 205, on Thursday April 15th from 1pm to 430pm. The presentation, sponsored by the American Friends Service Committee and the Croft Institute for International Studies, is free and open to the public.
Bounthanom Munxayaphom, the University of Mississippi's first Laotian student, was inducted into the Alpha Lambda Delta honor society for freshmen and sophomore students. Bounthanom, known round campus as "Nome", was happy to be accepted into the society. "I enjoy my studies at the University, and appreciate all the support and encouragement people have given to me since I arrived from Laos last August." To gain admission into the honor society, students must have attained a GPA of 3.5 during their first semester of college. Nome, who is the only international student enrolled in the Chancellor's Leadership Class, recently selected Management Information Systems as his major field of study.

date is April 24th.
