In the fall and spring semesters, we offer one-hour seminars to faculty and staff on the topics listed below. Check the Human Resources Schedule for offered times and dates.

• Basic Web Design
  An introduction for people unfamiliar with the first few steps of building a Web site. (Notes available - PowerPoint, 3MB)
   
• Basic Web Design Using Dreamweaver
  Learn how to create Web pages using Dreamweaver. This session will provide an overview of HTML basics, page editing features, and other tips for the beginning Dreamweaver user.

• Advanced Web Design Using Dreamweaver
  Building a Web page and managing a Web site are two different skills. This session is for people already familiar with Dreamweaver and HTML, and who want to learn about CSS, SSI, and other technologies available for producing professional-looking Web sites.

  Introducing new users to this system which targets campus e-mail addresses without the need to keep individual mailing lists. (Notes available - PDF, 500KB

Additionally, in 2006, IT and the Office of the Provost sponsored two "Webmaster Camps." These week-long seminars in late July and early August helped educate campus webmasters in techniques and requirements for building good Web sites. A number of the departments represented have gone on to redesign their existing sites, taking advantage of the new skills and concepts offered during the seminar.
