Stuart Bullion Lecture
The Stuart J. Bullion Lecture in Journalism honors the late chair of the department. Shortly before his death in April 2004, Dr. Bullion expressed an interest in creating a memorial lectureship in his name. His friends and family helped establish the Bullion Lecture, and each spring a noted media scholar or professional visits Oxford to speak to faculty and students.
The inaugural lecture was given in 2006 by Billy Morris of Morris Communications, Augusta, GA. Stanley Dearman, retired publisher of the Neshoba Democrat, was the 2nd Bullion lecturer.
