Change is the one true constant:
Many things in life come and go, but no matter what the circumstances, you can be sure that change will be the one thing you can count on. Never before in history has change been able to occur so rapidly. From technology to information, change seems to happen in the blink of an eye. Here at the Ole Miss Department of Journalism, we understand this and seek to educate, inform and prepare our students to meet a world where ideas move at the speed of light, yet the foundation of good journalism is forever rooted in truth, objectivity and good writing.
We must always be changing as a department. As technology and society changes, so must journalism. Through our several media outlets, students are able to not only practice what they learn in the classrooms of Farley hall, but they are also able to be a part of a team of journalists that have produced award-winning and world-renowned journalists since 1947.
The Department of Journalism is located in the newly renovated Farley Hall. We are one of the largest majors on campus. While pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism at Ole Miss, students can choose to have an emphasis in print journalism, broadcast journalism, public relations or magazine service journalism.
Feel free to explore our site by clicking through the tabs along the top and sides of the pages. From degree requirements to technology services offered on campus, we will answer all your questions. And if there is something you can't find on here but want to know, just contact at the information below and we will be more than happy to help you.
