Ventress Order

The Ventress Order is an organization established by The University of Mississippi Alumni Association in cooperation with The University of Mississippi Foundation. Named in honor of James Alexander Ventress, a founding father of the University, the Order administers substantial gifts for the benefit of the College of Liberal Arts to encourage its recognition as one of the outstanding education centers in the United States. Membership is available to those willing to make a financial commitment to ensure the continued success of the College of Liberal Arts. A graduate of the College, a friend, an organization, a family or other group may become a member of the Order. Membership may be achieved by a minimum gift of $5,000 payable either in a lump sum or in installments over a period not to exceed ten years.

Affiliate Membership -- The Affiliate Membership classification encourages recent graduates to provide significant financial support for the College. A graduate of the College of Liberal Arts whose date of graduation is not more than ten years from the date of application for such membership may become an Affiliate Member of the Ventress Order. A minimum gift of $1,000 is required, payable over a period not to exceed four years. A pledge may be made at any time within the ten-year period.

An Affiliate Member shall be identified on the rolls of the Ventress Order as such and shall be entitled to attend all meetings of the Order and participate in its deliberations. An Affiliate Member who has completed the $1,000 gift requirement, or is in the process of doing so, may become a regular member of the Ventress Order by making an additional pledge of $4,000 payable over a maximum period of eight years.
