Flowering Quince
Scientific: Chaenomeles (kee-nom’e-lees) speciosa (spee-si-o’-sa)
Family: Rosaceae
Height: 5-6 feet; spread 5-6 feet.
Deciduous, alternate, sun to part shade.
Flowers in March, fruits look like an apple in summer. Pruning annual thinning of old canes and sucker growth. Pest – fire blight, scale, aphids.
 

Locations on campus: East side of Lewis Hall, Bridge, Near old fire station, Kincannon Hall, E.F. Yerby Conference Center, Turner Center.
