Crymes Pittman Honored as Law Alumnus of the
Year
Crymes G. Pittman ('66) of Jackson has been honored by the Law Alumni
Chapter with the 1999 Law Alumnus of the Year Award. He is the immediate
past chairman of the Lamar Order.
Upon presentation of the award at the Mississippi Bar Convention, Pittman
was lauded for his dedicated service and leadership.
A long-time member of the Mississippi Bar Association, Pittman has served
on numerous MBA committees. He is on the Board of Governors of the American
Board of Trial Advocates. A member of the Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association,
he has been that group's president, vice president and treasurer. He is
a Fellow of the Mississippi Bar Foundation and holds memberships in the
American Inns of Court, the Mississippi Attorneys for Constitutional Justice
and the Hinds County Bar Association.
The attorney has spoken at numerous seminars, including theMississippi
Judicial College. He has taught Mississippi ABOTA Chapter-sponsored trial
advocacy classes at both The University of Mississippi School of Law and
the Mississippi College School of Law.
He serves on the Mississippi Advisory Committee on Rules and has served
on the U.S. District Magistrate Selection Committee.
A partner in the firm Pittman, Germany, Roberts & Welsh in Jackson,
Pittman limits his practice to civil litigation in all courts, including
both trial and appellate work. He was engaged in the general practice
of law in Raleigh before moving to Jackson in 1974. He received both his
bachelor's and law degrees at Ole Miss.
