The University of Mississippi School of Law offers high-quality legal education for an affordable price. We invite you to compare tuition costs with other public and private institutions around the country. PreLaw Magazine recently ranked our school eighth nationally for the best legal education for dollars spent.
After you compare costs, you will see why 1,500 ambitious and qualified men and women apply to attend our law school each year. Just take the time to look at the academic program, the accomplishments of the faculty and the career-placement success of our graduates, and you will no doubt agree that The University of Mississippi School of Law is the right choice.
Each year, several outstanding entering students are selected as recipients of the prestigious Eastland Scholarships in Law. Recipients are chosen on the basis of academic ability and achievement, as well as promise in the field of law. These scholarships cover full tuition and partial living expenses during the three-year program.
These awards cover part of the cost of nonresident tuition ($750/semester) and are available to entering law students who are unmarried nonresidents of Mississippi, provided either parent is a former University of Mississippi student who was enrolled full time for six regular semesters or received a degree from UM. The awards are renewable as long as the student earns at least a 2.5 grade-point average each semester of full-time enrollment.
Several other scholarships are available through the generous support of our alumni and friends. All students accepted to the law school are automatically considered for these scholarships. No further application is necessary. Because scholarship awards can begin as early as December of the year prior to entry to law school, it is important to apply early and complete your admissions file in a timely manner.
Our low tuition cost ensures that a quality legal education
is available to all of our students. Financial assistance through federal loan
programs is available to students who meet the eligibility requirements. Forms
