The Master of Criminal Justice is proudly offered by the Department of Legal Studies on the historic campus of The University of Mississippi and exists to educate and prepare students for future jobs in al l areas of criminal justice. The Master of Criminal Justice is a policy oriented program focused on improving students' understanding of the history, function and possible areas of improvement in the criminal justice system.
The 36-hour Masters program is designed to be completed in two years of study. Degree work is research intensive and focuses on many areas of criminal justice. All students must research and complete an independently written t hesis or practicum in their final semester. Students in the program will examine criminal justice systems and their policies including the intelligence function in the United States and abroad from a community and social justice perspective.
There are two programs of study within the Master of Criminal Justice program at The University of Mississippi. Students are able to choose between Criminal Justice or Homeland Security.
