analytic number theory, especially the theory of the Riemann zeta-function,
L-functions, and multiplicative number theory.
Sandra Spiroff:
commutative algebra

Analysis and Dynamical Systems
Qingying Bu: functional analysis, in particular Banach space theory.
Gerard Buskes: functional analysis, operator theory, ordered algebraic structures.
Saša
Kocić: dynamical systems (renormalization, KAM theory, rigidity theory).
Przemo Kranz:
functional analysis, ordered algebraic structures.
Iwo Labuda:
topological vector spaces, spaces of measurable functions,
integral operators, vector measures, set-valued maps.
Erwin Miña-Díaz:
approximation theory, orthogonal polynomials.
Six PhDs have been completed within the group since 2003.

Combinatorics
Stan Dziobiak: structural graph theory, graph minors.
Adam
Gray: matroid theory, graph theory, combinatorics.
Torina
Lewis: matroid theory.
Talmage James Reid: matroid theory and graph theory.
Laura Sheppardson: graph structures (including cycles, disjoint paths, and
minors).
William Staton: graph theory; currently working on independence polynomials
of graphs.
Bing Wei: structural properties of graphs including cycles, graph minors and
domination.
Haidong
Wu :
matroid theory and graph theory (connectivity, matroid polynomials).
Sixteen PhDs have been completed in the group since 2003. Five more

Statistics
Ali
Al-sharadqah: probability theory and statistics, statistical computer vision: statistical
optimization for geometric fitting, numerical linear algebra.
Xin
Dang:
nonparametric and robust multivariate analysis, data mining, outlier
detection, depth functions.
Hailin
Sang: time series modeling, asymptotic statistics, empirical processes.
