Mr. Antonello Simonetti is a visiting scholar from La Sapienza University of Rome. Antonello is native from Pescina, a little town, in the heart of Apennines Mountain (central Italy). In 2006, he received is B.S. in Geology with emphasis in seismic stratigraphy and geophysical prospecting. He joined MMRI-CMRET in February and will stay trough October 2009. During this period, Antonello will work on his M. Sc. dissertation under the supervision of Dr. Macelloni, Dr. Camelia Knapp and Dr. Jim Knapp at University of South Carolina, where, during the Spring, he will spend a period of about 4 months. Antonello's research will focus on processing and interpretation of a multiple-scale resolution seismic records, with the main goal to understand the relationship between gas hydrates formation/dissociation and active fault system, generated by salt diapir movement. Antonello enjoys playing guitar and has a great passion for Blues. For sure, he will feel at home in Mississippi. |
