French at the University of Mississippi
The Dept of Modern Languages has a faculty with expertise in the major
fields of French language, literature, and culture. Abundant opportunities
exist for students to work closely with French faculty. The Department
also sponsors a weekly foreign film series and periodic cultural events.

Student Organization:
The Department maintains an active chapter of Pi Delta Phi, the national
French Honor Society. Membership is based upon the following three criteria:
- completion of two courses beyond French 202
- overall GPA of 3.0
- GPA of 3.5 in French courses

French Government Assistant:
One graduate student spends the academic year in France as an employee
of the French Government working as an English-language assistant in
a French lycee. Participation in this program is especially encouraged
of those who do not have extensive overseas experience.
Financial Assistance:
Financial assistance is available in the form of scholarships and assistantships.
