2009 Ole Miss Choral Festival

You are cordially invited to participate in the Ole Miss Choral Festival which will be held in the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts on the Ole Miss campus. All high school and middle/junior high school choirs are invited to participate in this exciting event.

Groups that may participate:
Mixed Choir, Men's Chorus, Treble Chorus, Chamber/Madrigal Choir (Each choir must have a minimum of twelve (12) singers. Chamber/Madrigal choirs are required to have 12-24 singers.) A fee of $200 per choir will be charged.

Adjudication:
There will be a panel comprised of three judges who will give written comments. Three numbered original scores of each selection will be required. Each group may participate for comments only or rating and competition. Ratings of I, II and III will be used for the competition. Trophies for Best in Class will be awarded to choirs with the highest score in each category (must have a I to qualify), and a sweepstakes trophy will be awarded to the highest scoring high school and middle/junior high school choir.

Performance Timing:
Each group will perform two required selections suitable for adjudication. Each group will be allowed ten minutes to walk on, perform, and leave the stage. There will be no sight reading or required music list for this festival.
