Advisor Information

handbook includes undergraduate degree checklists
and much more (see table of contents in the handbook). You can print
selected pages from the Adobe Acrobat menu, which will probably be handy
when you want to print out selected degree checklists , etc.
Information on graduate degrees is
also on the departmental web site. See the guidelines and checklists for
the M.M. and D.A. tracks.
Students are assigned to advisors as follows:
- B.A., B.M. Performance, and M.M. Performance
students are advised by their studio teachers (except in the case of adjunct
faculty/Instructors; students of adjunct faculty/Instructors are assigned
to other tenured/tenure-track faculty in the same performance area).
- B.M.
Music Ed. students are advised by: Dr. Worthy (Instrumental, 2nd-semester
sophomores and up); and Dr. Debra Spurgeon (Vocal). Undergraduate
instrumental Music Education majors in the first three
semesters (i.e. both
semesters freshmen year and Fall of sophomore year) are advised by their
studio instructors -- except in the case of students of
adjunct
faculty/Instructors (students of adjunct faculty/Instructors are assigned to
other tenured/tenure-track faculty in the same performance area).
- M.M.
Music Ed. and Ph.D. Music Ed. students will be advised by Dr. Alan Spurgeon.
