Jack F. Dalrymple, Captain, USN

Captain Dalrymple is a native of Atlanta and grew up in the town of Cornelia in northeast Georgia. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on an NROTC scholarship and was commissioned upon graduation in 1979. His first assignment was to USS AUSTIN (LPD-4) where he served as First Division Officer and CIC Officer. Subsequent sea duty assignments included USS AYLWIN (FF-1081) as Operations Officer, USS KING (DDG-41) as Operations Officer and USS SPARTANBURG COUNTY (LST-1192) as Executive Officer. His tours at sea have included deployments to the Mediterranean, the North Atlantic, the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean

Shore assignments included tours as Naval Science Instructor at the U.S. Naval Academy; Commanding Officer of Naval Reserve Center, Cape Girardeau, Missouri; Commanding Officer of Naval Reserve Center, Cleveland, Ohio; Chief of Staff at Naval Reserve Readiness Command, Region Eleven, Dallas, Texas; Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations (N3) on the headquarters staff for Commander, Naval Reserve Force in New Orleans, Louisiana; and Deputy Chair for the Strategic Research Department and on the faculty of the National Security Decision Making department at the Naval War College, Newport, Rhode Island. He is a graduate of the Naval War College, where he was awarded a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies. Captain Dalrymple’s previous assignment was as the Deputy DCOS/Director for Total Force Manpower & Personnel (N1B) on the headquarters staff of Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet. He also served as the COMPACFLT Operational Support Officer. He is currently the Professor of Naval Science/Commanding Officer, NROTC Mid-South, with units at the University of Mississippi and the University of Memphis.

Captain Dalrymple has been awarded the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal (four awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards) and various unit commendations and service awards.
