Cyber Crime Newsletter - A joint publication of the NCJRL and the National Association of Attorneys General describing current developments, including timely articles, and information on legislative action, corporate initiatives, and court cases. Published six times a year since 2003, this newsletter contains a wealth of information. Symposium: The Search and Seizure of Computers and Obtaining Electronic Evidence - A Primer on computer searches and seizures, and several articles by noted scholars. Symposium - Prosecution Responses to Internet Victimization - This symposium edition focuses on the attributes and dimensions of Internet victimization, victimization issue that factor into criminal prosectuion decision-making and aspects of sentencing as it related to Internet victimization. Developing Cyber Crime Fighting Capacities Probation Publications - These materials provide information on technical aspects of probation supervision of cyber-criminals. Monitoring Probationer Internet Habits E-Mail and Internet Chat - A CD-ROM discussing how to investigate and prosecute crimes involving internet chat rooms. The Center for Digital Government has recognized the High-technology Crime Prosecutor / Investigator Resource CD-ROM: Email and Internet Chat in its"Best of California" awards, by naming it the Best Sustainable Value of 2005. The program focuses on on-line exploitation of children through the use of Internet chat rooms. The CD-ROM explains how to investigate and prosecute such cases, including preparing search warrants, outlining state and federal legal guidelines, and providing other resources that can be used to assist investigation and prosecution. The release resulted from a collective effort by the Office of California Attorney General, the Sacramento Valley Hi-Tech Crimes Task Force, the National Center for Justice and the Rule of Law, SEARCH, and The National Consortium for Justice Information and Statistics. This CD was used in training by POST, the California District Attorneys Association, SEARCH, National Association of Attorneys General, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force program, American Prosecutors Research Institute, the National White Collar Crime Center, and others. It is estimated that 100,000 copies of the CD are in circulation. Please note that a more recent edition has been produced by the State of California.
