INSTRUMENTATION FOR AQUACULTURE

The Aqua-Scanner™ is a computer-controlled, narrow-beam scanning sonar. It makes a 360 degree scan of the pond and displays the received signal on a 16-color video display monitor.

The following results are the raw and preliminary data collected at the UM Field Station. Some of the echoes have moved and are believed be fish.

Pond Scan 1

Pond Scan 2 (about 15-30 minutes later)

In addition, the experiments are conducted in the NCPA calibration test tank. In the test tank, several targets were placed for the the Aqua-Scanner™ to locate and count. The Aqua-Scanner™ is capable of determining the wall of the tank.
