NARRATIVE

Gary A. Lamberton, Jr. obtained a B.A. in Physics and Mathematics from the State University of New York College at Potsdam in 1997. Attending graduate school at Clemson University, Gary was a member of the Complex and Advanced Materials Laboratory (CAML) under Dr. Terry M. Tritt and investigated the thermoelectric properties of select skutterudite and clathrate material systems. He earned a M.S. degree at Clemson in August of 2001 and a Ph.D. in August of 2004. two-time recipient of a NASA South Carolina Space Grant Consortium Graduate Scholar Fellowship and was awarded a National Science Foundation East Asia Summer Institute Fellowship to study in Nagoya, Japan in the summer of 2003 with Prof. Kunihito Koumoto.

Gary joined the RUS group as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in August of 2004 and will be extending the measurement to elevated temperatures. In addition, he will also be performing temperature dependent x-ray measurements in collaboration with Dr. David Mandrus of Oak Ridge National Laboratories.
