Resonant Ultrasound Spectroscopy
(RUS)

RUS is a novel technique in which the free body resonances of a solid are used to determine all of the material's elastic constants in a single measurement.

Find out more about the technique here.

CoSb3 sample mounted between transducers, and illustrative data showing a few of the sharp resonances typical of RUS. The size of the sample shown is approximately 2 x 2.5 x 3mm.
