Mozambique

In 1996, a village of 10,000 was abandoned due to the presence of landmines.  After 3 months of work, 4 landmines were found.

France
Mines and unexploded ordnance remain from both World Wars.  16,000 acres of land are unusable.  The French Corps of Deminers has lost 600 members in the last 50 years.  In 1991, 36 farmers were killed while plowing.
