Education Division Office Suite

The central staircase in the NFSMI building leads to the second floor where Administrative Offices are located in the west wing, The Education Division is located on the east end of the building. At the top of the stairs across the marble foyer is access to the upper level of the auditorium. Past the auditorium and toward the front of the building, a sunny atrium framed by floor to ceiling windows provides an inviting entry to the second floor offices.

A reception desk and waiting area are situated at the entrance of the Education Division located on the east end of the building. Three rows of modular office units designed for flexibility in arrangement are anchored by the Executive Director's office and the Education Director's office. This area of the Education Division has the potential for housing 14 employees in addition to two directors. The modular units average 10' by 11' and are furnished with new modular desks, task chairs, side chairs and wall-hung file units. Workrooms with counter space and cabinets for storing supplies are located near the offices.

NFSMI serves as a clearinghouse for information on nutrition and the Child Nutrition Programs. Staff provide "Help Desk" assistance to the people who call from across the nation and around the globe via an 800 number (Guam calls often.) The ample shelving and file units along the walls of this room and the room across the hall house the growing collection of Child Nutrition Program reference materials.

Beyond the currently occupied offices of the Education Division are modular units which house copiers, printers, paper supplies, and other office related equipment. Additional modular units are configured in a large open area and furnished with desks to provide quiet reading and work areas for NFSMI staff, for the Applied Research Division staff when on-site, visiting consultants, and to accommodate the growth of NFSMI.
