Preparation and Test Kitchen

NFSMI specialists will use this to support demonstrations in the auditorium area and for recipe development and testing food products when the larger laboratory is not necessary. In the future, NFSMI may be involved in testing new recipes and products for schools, child care, or adult care facilities. In addition, the modification of present school food service and child care recipes to enhance appeal while reducing fat, sugar, or sodium may be completed in this area. This test area will provide smaller working space to reduce the demand on energy and space in the laboratory kitchen.
