Historical/Biographical Sketch:
During the 1980s and 1990s, Marshall Matz served as general counsel to the Senate Select Committee on Nutrition and Human Needs and also as Special Counsel to the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry and as a lawyer for the American School Food Service Association.

Scope and Content:
The collection contains documents concerning national school lunch and child nutrition programs as well as some state initiatives. There is legislative correspondence, copies of proposed bills, working papers and reports from the ASFSA, also NFSMI planning material including a feasibility study.
