Description

Responding to a Food Recall encourages foodservice professionals to develop an action plan for US Department of Agriculture ( USDA) commodity foods and purchased foods before a food product recall occurs. A panel will discuss reasons for food recalls, roles of manufacturers, and responsibilities of school foodservice personnel. A special feature of this teleconference is a joint food safety video message provided by Mr. Eric M. Bost, USDA Under Secretary for Food, Nutrition, and Consumer Services ( FNCS) and Dr. Elsa A. Murano, USDA Under Secretary for Food Safety ( FSIS).

It includes duties of the facilitator, choosing a viewing site, and backup plans. New facilitators should review this sourcebook.
