Degree Requirements

Completion of the Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences-Practice Track, with a minimum cumulative GPA on required pharmacy courses of 2.75 in each of the first two years of professional courses, is a pre-requisite for admission into the final two years leading to the entry-level Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree. Upon receiving the B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, the student will have completed the first four years of the seven-year Doctor of Pharmacy program.

A student who earns two or more course grades of F during the P5 and/or P6 year will be dismissed from the Pharm.D. program. A student academically dismissed may only be re-admitted one time and must begin the program with the P5 fall courses and repeat all previously passed courses. No required course may be taken more than two times. All courses must be completed with a grade of C or better to be eligible for graduation.

Successful completion of the Doctor of Pharmacy degree qualifies the student to take the North American Pharmacy Licensure Exam and fulfills all externship requirements of the Mississippi State Board of Pharmacy.

Information on obtaining a Doctor of Pharmacy degree for practitioners already possessing a B.S. in Pharmacy degree is available upon request.
