Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences

Progression and Retention Criteria

In order to progress in the B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences program, a student must meet the following conditions:

  1. All required courses must be taken at The University of Mississippi in the sequence defined by the curriculum. Any exception must have prior approval by the Scholastic Standards Committee.
  2. Minimum GPA (cumulative on all grades earned) of 2.0 on required courses.
  3. A passing grade of D or better must be achieved in all required professional courses in order to progress to the next curricular year. However, a grade of C or better is necessary to satisfy course prerequisite requirements.
  4. Any student who receives two or more final course grades of F in required courses during the first (P3) and second (P4) professional year will be dismissed from the program. A student so dismissed can only be readmitted one time (see below) and must begin the program anew and repeat all previously passed P3 and P4 courses. The student will only be readmitted if he/she successfully completes the competitive regular entry admission process.
  5. No required course can be taken more than two times.
