A computational medicinal chemistry postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry, School of Pharmacy, University of Mississippi, Oxford, MS, 38655, in the research group of Prof. Robert J. Doerksen.
The research project is to study protein-ligand interactions using computational methods including protein modeling, docking, molecular dynamics, and ab initio molecular dynamics.
Candidates should have a computational PhD with specialization in medicinal chemistry, chemistry, biology, biophysics or related fields and an outstanding publication record. They should have prior experience in simulations of biomolecules and practical knowledge of and experience using current simulation techniques, including ab initio molecular dynamics. They should also have excellent scripting skills; supercomputing experience; proficiency with UNIX/Linux operating system and system administration experience. Candidates must have good communication skills.
The position is available immediately. The appointment will be for one year, with extension possible upon mutual agreement and continued funding.
