Yu-Dong Zhou
- Assistant Professor of Pharmacognosy and Research Scientist, Research Institute Of Pharmaceutical Sciences
Dr.
Zhou received her undergraduate training at Fudan University (Shanghai, PR
China), where she earned her B.S. in Biochemistry in 1988. She earned her
M.S. and Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 1994 and 1995, respectively,
at the Emory University in Atlanta. Her graduate research involved the study
of tissue-specific gene expression in vitro and in vivo.
Dr. Zhou then received postdoctoral training in the Department of Biochemistry
at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Her research
at UT Southwestern focused on the discovery and molecular characterization
of mammalian neuronal PAS domain protein 1 (NPAS1) and the elucidation of
the biological function of NPAS1. Dr. Zhou joined the NCNPR in 1998 and was
appointed as a Research Scientist in 2000 and as an Assistant Professor of
Pharmacognosy in 2002.
